The Surgical Experience
A tummy tuck is performed under general anaesthesia in an accredited surgical facility and typically takes 2-3 hours to complete. It is considered an outpatient procedure. It is frequently combined with liposuction. After surgery, patients will wear a compression garment for 4-6 weeks. Patients will be encouraged to move around after surgery in order to promote blood circulation. Most patients will need 2 weeks off work following surgery, and can resume full activities after 6 weeks.
