A breast lift, or mastopexy, is designed to elevate and reshape sagging breasts for an elevated and more youthful appearance. Whether caused by aging, pregnancy, weight changes, or genetics, breast sagging can impact both physical comfort and confidence. Dr. Arko Demianczuk offers advanced breast lift techniques tailored to your anatomy and goals.
What Is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift, or mastopexy procedure, will raise the breasts by repositioning the breast tissue to a higher position and remove any excess skin. During the procedure, Dr. Demianczuk repositions the nipple and areola to a more youthful position and may reduce areolar size if necessary. While a lift alone does not add volume, it can be combined with breast augmentation or reduction for enhanced shape and proportion.
Who Can Benefit from a Breast Lift?
Candidates include anyone with sagging breasts due to aging, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, or pregnancy. Candidates should be in good health, at a stable weight, and have realistic expectations about surgical outcomes. Whether your breasts have changed after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss, Dr. Demianczuk will assess your anatomy and aesthetic preferences to determine the best surgical approach.
What Can Be Combined with a Breast Lift?
To enhance both shape and volume, a breast lift is often combined with breast augmentation using implants or fat transfer. Breast augmentation with implants can be customized to your body and preferences. We offer both saline and silicone implants. Patients seeking a size reduction can also combine a lift with breast reduction surgery. These combinations allow Dr. Demianczuk to address multiple concerns in a single procedure, offering more comprehensive and natural-looking results.
What to Expect During Surgery and Recovery
Breast lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes two to three hours to complete, depending on the technique used. You may experience temporary swelling, bruising, or sensitivity, which can be managed with prescribed medication and support garments. Most patients return to light daily activities within one week but should avoid strenuous movement and heavy lifting for several weeks. Dr. Demianczuk provides personalized aftercare instructions to promote healing and minimize visible scarring.
Breast Lift Results
Results from a breast lift are visible immediately and continue to improve as swelling subsides and tissues settle. Over time, incision lines will fade, and the breasts will appear more lifted, symmetrical, and proportionate. Results are typically seen after several months and are long-lasting, when paired with a healthy lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a breast lift or just implants?
During the consultation, Dr Demianczuk will discuss whether a breast lift, breast augmentation, or a combination of both will attain the best results. Attention will also be made to improve any pre surgical asymmetry. Every patient presents with unique needs and preferences, and these will be adhered to in providing the ideal post surgical shape.
Will there be scars for a breast lift?
There is no way to avoid making the necessary incisions to complete a breast lift procedure; therefore, some scarring will result from this procedure. Every effort is made during surgery to minimize scarring. Most women feel that the breast contour that results following a breast lift procedure is worth the scars left behind. Both saline and silicone implants are popular choices among surgeons and patients. In general, patients with a decent amount of breast tissue are good candidates for either implant, while those with reduced breast tissue and minimal subcutaneous fat will benefit from silicone.
Are Silicone breast implants safe?
Yes. All breast implants used are Health Canada and FDA approved. They are rigorously tested, and retested for safety. For reconstruction cases, they choose them 3 times more often.

Breast Implant Associated Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer of the immune system) that can occur in the scar tissue and fluid near the implant. It is not breast cancer, but does require treatment. It has been closely linked with use of textured implants. The current lifetime risk of BIA-ALCL is estimated to be 1:2,207-1:86,029 for women with textured implants. The breast implants related to BIA-ALCL have been recalled by the manufacturer, and are no longer available, thereby ensuring patient safety.
