Lip Lift in Vancouver

Many patients who come into our Vancouver office want fuller lips, but sometimes, lip injections are not the right solution. For those with long or drooping upper lips, a lip lift can provide just the results they’re looking for.

What is a Lip Lift?

Due to the natural aging process, the upper lip can lengthen and lose its shape. At the same time, the pink portion of the long upper lip can become thin and less defined. Upper lip lift procedures are a type of facial plastic surgery that are important in creating a youthful smile.

A lip lift can also be combined with lip fillers and other facial rejuvenation procedures for full rejuvenation.

What are the Benefits of a Lip Lift?

Lip lifts have several benefits: they can help restore the shape of the lips, increase the pink portion of the upper lip, and improve the visibility of the upper teeth, all while maintaining a natural-looking appearance. It’s also a good alternative to dermal fillers and offers beautiful, natural-looking results.

The Lip Lift Procedure

The lip lift procedure is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. During the surgical procedure, an incision will be made in the creases at the base of the nose and redundant upper lip skin will be removed. The remaining tissue will be lifted and reshaped for a fuller lip.

This facial cosmetic surgery typically takes around 60 minutes to complete. Small stitches will be removed 6 days following surgery.

A lip lift can also be done in combination with other facial surgeries, such as facelifts, neck lifts, and brow lifts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have a lip lift if there is filler in my lips?

Yes! Lip filler will not adversely affect your lip lift procedure. You do not need to dissolve your filler prior to the surgery.

Does the lip lift affect the function of my upper lip?

No, this surgery does not affect the function of the upper lip.

Will there be visible scars?

The incisions are carefully hidden in the creases under the nose. Once healed, the scar is very difficult to detect, as the incisions follow the natural crease of the nose.

What is the cost of a lip flip?

Each lip lift surgery is tailored according to how subtle or dramatic patients desire their results to be. Patients can expect to pay between $3,800-$4,500 for this procedure.

Lip Lift Aftercare and Results

Patients can generally return to work within 48 hours and resume normal activities within 5-7 days following this lip enhancement surgery. Patients can return to vigorous exercise and heavy lifting in approximately three weeks.  This technique repositions the upper lip and improves the lip contour and shape for a more youthful mouth with minimal scarring.
